semi-frameless shower CONFIGURATIONS
Semi-frameless shower enclosures have thinner glass, typically 1/4" or 3/16", versus frameless enclosures, which use 3/8" or 1/2" thick glass.
Benefits
- Semi-frameless showers can be installed on fiberglass, unlike heavier frameless showers which need to be installed on tile or marble.
- Semi-frameless enclosures are often more affordable than frameless showers.
- While no shower is completely watertight, semi-frameless enclosures often offer a more watertight solution than frameless enclosures.
Drawbacks
- Semi-frameless shower doors can only swing outwards, not inwards.
- Because of the lighter weight glass, semi-frameless showers have more metal framing than frameless showers - including a header.
- While all our showers are custom measured to fit your space, semi-frameless showers are available only in standard heights.
While the below enclosures are shown only in chrome, semi-frameless enclosures are also available in brushed nickel, oil-rubbed bronze, and gold.

Silhouette Door and Panel
The Silhouette is a great option for fiberglass enclosures, or for those looking for a more frameless look at a semi-frameless price. The Silhouette incorporates a 1/4" door with a 3/8" panel, which eliminates the need for a header.
